Today was the A2 media Music video screening at screen on the green

Today we got to experience the excitement of being in a cinema, much like last years outgoing however there seemed to be a higher expectation and sense of enjoyment as most of the work viewed was at a higher standard than last years thrillers and we showed (group 25and other as groups) a better development of creative skills.

In all it was a successful day and I'm extremely proud with the final piece, considering the arguments and setbacks we had my group worked hard and did our self proud.

WELL DONE 25

Digipack Photoshop Tutorial

Today we had a brief introduction to photoshop and then had to create a digipack using images of the teacher Dan.

Here is the digipack I created. It took quite a long time to get to grips with the Photoshop interface, as I am used to using the image editing program Fireworks, which is quite different to Photoshop but still has some similarities. I didn't have time to add the production info or edit the image on the back cover. I tried to crop it but didn't know how to do it without cropping the whole canvas. If I were to spend more time on it, I would have changed the image of the clouds on the cover, and possibly added effects to the name ("DAN")

Idea for Digipak Design (Photography imagery)

Image ideas

This is a possible image which I think identifies the artist 'Masta B' as well as the Motif which was used in our music video. The Image of the artist is distinctive, the motif is expressive of a urban dub step design, which 'groups like chasing status use' The blocks behind 'Masta B' are symbolic of an urban area which is linked to the type of genre we are trying to push across for the artist on the Digipak and Advertisement.

1st image

2nd image
This is the second image which will have influences on my Digipak,  I particular like the mosaic design on the skull and font which is used, as well as the colour scheme. ill include grey as my final third choice of colour scheme.

Analysis of three digipaks that relate your genre- you must outline how they relate to your genre and audience (Urban Artists)

Urban (Hip hop, rock, Dub step, R&B)

First analysis

  • I particularly like the theatrical design of this Digipak, the cover follows a continuous colour scheme, orange and white, whilst the main design is based on the images (photography)

Second Analysis

  • The blue colour is very eye catching
  • I like the graphics used on the front cover, the angel and mist/clouds
  • This has a rock feel to it as most of the colours are very dark and the fonts used are gothy
  • A continuous theme of horror, mystery and gothy feel

3rd Analysis

  • Nice consistent colours
  • Dubstep techno feel due to the raving colours (purple neon and black)
  • No track listing is a negative
  • Nice tiled designed used with the colours dark purple and black
  • Seems uncompleted to an extent (acknowledgement, release date, track listing, possible price
